Welcome to
Christ Seminar!
The
worst disfavour we can do to ourself is to
worship Truth on the
one
hand and to deny Its weight in life on the other
hand.
The truth of our religion
is
not some mumbo jumbo hanging in the air. Our God
is not a God
that
floats about on the clouds. Jesus we worship is
not some phantasm of a deity.
his religion is a weighty religion, and it
imposes a weighty burden on its followers; the
burden of pursuing, loving, living and
proclaiming the truth.
We do not sell the gospel, no, truth is not a
commodity, but we REASON and PERSUADE the truth
to others, just as the Apostle did and exhorted
us to do. But how can we handle Truth in such
manner when we ourselves embraced a namby-pamby
form of Christianity which does not as much
emphasizes on the Truth than on ourselves. This
is not the way of our religion...at least not
for us who are given the priviledges to good
education and resources. At least not for us who
are endowed with a mind good enough to end us up
in the Universities (thank God!)
And Pilate said to Jesus, "What is truth?" (John
18:38)
Jesus
said, "I am the way,the truth and the life"
(John 14:6)
Truth
is not too petty that we may kick it around as
we like, for the great God Himself is the Truth.
Truth is not too lofty that we may not reach it,
for God came to us that we may go to Him. Jesus
said, "No one comes to the Father except through
me. If you had known me, you would have known my
Father also. From now on you do know him and
have seen him." (John 14:6-7)

Who was Jesus? |
|
"Christ is the all-pervading, living, spiritual
power in us all"
--
Albert Schweitzer |
"His offering of forgiveness and restoration undercut the normal system;
in modern term, it had the force of a private
individual offering to issue a passport or a
driving licence, thus bypassing the accredited
office."
--Tom Wright |
"Jesus is Lord"
--Paul of Tarsus |
"A
Jesus who drops down out of heaven, performs
some magical act that frees human beings from
the power of sin, rises from the dead, and
returns to heaven is simply no longer
credible...We must find a new plot for a more
credible Jesus"
-- Dr. Robert Funk |
